Holiday Explorers supports South Australians with intellectual disability to holiday in small groups all over Australia.
Holiday Explorers is NDIS registered in a range of categories to provide engagement in the community, life changing experiences and skill development.
We provide a wide range of local one day tours, weekend trips and interstate holidays. With over 30 years' experience, our enthusiastic team of staff and volunteers use diverse skills and expertise to tailor itineraries and facilitate activities for 500 members.
Age eligibility: 16 years and over. Please note people over 65 years of age with intellectual disability and My Aged Care funding are also eligible for this service.

HOLIDAY EXPLORERS (HX) MEMBERSHIP
Membership is currently open to people with intellectual disability over 16 years of age and living in South Australia, (referred to as the “Tourist”). Membership is essential to us HX services. Membership may be considered from other States on a case by case basis.
How to become a member:
1) Contact HX Client Coordinator on 8331 2399
2) Meet with HX in person (or over the phone or online for people living in the country)
3) Complete an Application Form
4) Sign the Service Agreement
5) Pay the annual $15 Membership Fee
BOOKING A SERVICE
When booking a Service on Bcause:
1) Pick your preferred choice of date, select how the Service will be funded, the Total cost will be shown.
2) Click on the “make enquiry” button.
3) Once we have enough Tourists for a group the Service will proceed.
4) We will then respond with a quote so you can add the ‘Service’ to your cart

FEES, PAYMENTS, CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Not all holiday/service costs are covered by the NDIS, refer to your quote for what you will be require to pay and what is claimable under the NDIS.
Self – Funded Fee: Any Tourists wishing to purchase their HX service outright and not use any of their NDIS funding may choose the Non-NDIS Funded option.
Payments: All payments are the responsibility of the Tourist / their representative.
Changes in Prices and Itineraries / Cancellations and Refunds: HX reserves the right to alter fees or itineraries without notice, and further reserves the right to cancel or withdraw any offer, or to decline to accept any Tourist on any service. NB: NDIS pricing is subject to change based on the Price Guides published by the NDIA.
If HX alters the itinerary, a new itinerary will be sent no less than 7 days before the holiday, unless the alteration is required after that time.
Cancellation of Service and Refunds: Cancellations must be advised at least 14 days prior to the service commencing for a full refund
Cancellations more than 7 days prior to the service will still be required to pay for the trip expenses already incurred including a $40 administration fee.
Cancellations less than 7 days prior to the service will still be required to pay for trip expenses already incurred including a $80 administration fee.
Cancellations after 3pm the day before the service will be charged up to 90% of the NDIS fee and the gap payment.
If we have to cancel the trip due to circumstances beyond our control we will notify you as soon as possible, in this case a full refund will apply.
CONFIDENTIALITY AND PRIVACY
Confidential and Private information collected about the Tourist is necessary to ensure safety and wellbeing while on holiday, and will be respectfully handled and kept in the strictest confidence (in accordance with the Federal Privacy Act 1988). The Executive Officer is the HX Privacy Officer, who can be contacted if you have any questions or concerns.
CONCERNS, COMPLAINTS AND ADVOCACY
If you are not happy or have concerns about the services you have received from HX, it is important that you tell us. It is only when we know that something is wrong that we can take action to correct it. You may direct your concern/s to our Executive Officer, Lisa Albinus. If you would like to make a formal complaint please provide this in writing, addressed to ‘Chairperson, John Miller’, and send to HX.
A copy of our Concerns and Complaints Policy will be provided to all new members at the time of joining and may be requested at any time. Whatever your grievance, please be assured that we are available to talk to you.
Disability Advocacy and Complaints Service of SA (Ph 7122 6030) or the Health and Community Services Complaints Commissioner (Ph 8226 8666 or 1800 232 007) can provide assistance if you need help to raise your concerns.
